Job Description

The Retail Sales Representative is an entry to an intermediate-level position responsible for assisting customers in purchasing products by providing information on pricing, features, and locating items. The role involves collaborating with fellow employees, managing inventory, and maintaining stock levels. A high school qualification is the minimum requirement for this position. With appropriate experience and further qualifications, you can advance to other roles in the field, such as Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or District Sales Manager.

Reporting Structure

Retail Sales Store Manager: The Retail Sales Store Manager will be your immediate supervisor. They will provide guidance, support, and direction regarding daily sales activities, customer service, and performance expectations. The Store Manager will oversee your work, offer feedback, and help you achieve your sales targets.

District Sales Manager: The District Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple stores within a specific district or region. They will work closely with the Retail Sales Store Manager to set sales targets, develop strategies, and ensure consistent sales performance across stores. The District Sales Manager will provide guidance and support to help you succeed in your role.

Sales Director: The Sales Director holds a higher-level position responsible for strategic sales planning and overall sales performance across multiple districts or regions. While not your direct supervisor, they play a crucial role in setting the overall sales direction of the company. The Sales Director may provide guidance and communicate sales strategies to the District Sales Managers, influencing the overall sales environment in which you operate.

HR Department: The Human Resources (HR) department serves as a crucial support function for all employees. They handle matters related to recruitment, training, employee relations, and policies within the organization. As a Retail Sales Representative, you may interact with HR on various matters such as training programs, performance evaluations, and employee-related concerns.

Operations Manager: The Operations Manager oversees the overall operations of the company, including inventory management, supply chain, and process efficiency. While not directly involved in sales-related activities, collaborating with the Operations Manager can help ensure that sales strategies are aligned with operational capabilities and that inventory levels are optimized to meet customer demands.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in a friendly and timely manner, creating a positive work environment.
  • Stay knowledgeable and proactive in learning about new promotions, price changes, and policy updates.
  • Perform administrative and operational tasks, including filing paperwork and forms and effectively communicating with management to resolve issues.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, stock accessories, and ensure displays comply with corporate standards.
  • Manage time efficiently, ensuring timely store opening and closure, and secure sensitive items appropriately.
  • Advocate for customers passionately, connecting and having fun while providing exceptional service.
  • Work effectively as part of the Cricket store team, displaying a competitive drive and confidence to succeed in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Collaborate with peers and store leaders, sharing best practices and resolving customer issues.
  • Balance customer experience and performance goals effectively.
  • Sell non-contract wireless phones, service plans, and accessories in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deliver outstanding service, striving to retain and gain customers.
  • Participate in outside sales events or promotions.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, at various locations.
  • Perform daily opening and closing procedures, maintain store appearance, and contribute to a positive working environment.

  • Ensure racks are fully stocked and manage merchandise returns.
  • Coordinate with the Retail Sales Representatives team to provide excellent customer service, especially during peak times.
  • Inform customers about discounts and special offers. • Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager.
  • Understand customers' needs and demonstrate how our no-contract products meet those needs.
  • Possess a competitive spirit and a desire to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Multi-task effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Educate and engage customers through product demonstrations.
  • Interact with customers, delivering prompt and courteous service.
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Operate a personal computer, wireless equipment, copier, and fax.
  • Lift up to 10 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
  • Complete all aspects of store opening and closing procedures according to written guidelines.
  • Submit transaction journals daily.
  • Assist with inventory maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • One year of retail sales or customer service experience; prior wireless sales experience (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Boost Mobile, Cricket, etc.) preferred but not required.
  • Management experience is not required but preferred for progression into store management/ownership roles.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, basic computer skills, troubleshooting, Point-of-Sale systems, and cash handling.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Russian is a plus.
